Kinmen Kaoliang is a widely available Kaoliang baijiu – it’s sweet, light aroma, and relatively balanced. The 58 is a proof designation, so it’s seriously boozy. It’s also available in a 38° version. It’s a famous brand of baijiu, and a good starter for beginners!
I found this bottle in St. Louis at Olive Supermarket, but you’ll find it in many places that carry medium-to-high end baijiu.

Kinmen 58 is the GOOD STUFF. This is now one of my go-to brands for new baijiu tasters.

Nose: sickly candy sweet, with sour & nail polish remover undertones.
Palate: Red berries, sweet but natural. (Medium Alcohol Burn)
Aftertaste: Long lasting. Vegetal, grass. Very clean.
Overall impression: Quality shines through in the taste. Surprisingly natural flavors. Don’t judge it by the smell.
Baijiu that you’ll keep coming back to.
